COVID 19 Policies

OPERATING HOURS

Monday through Friday from 6:30am-4:30pm

REVISED DROP-OFF WINDOW

6:30am-8:30am

  • Children can be late up to twice per month; late is considered after 9:00am; on the third late drop off, they will not be permitted attendance for that day.
  • Hand hygiene stations will be located at the exterior entrances of SVELC. Children and any adults entering the building must sanitize their hands thoroughly before entering the building. Infant and Toddler families must line up and enter through the right set of doors; Preschool families must line up and enter through the left set of doors.
  • No children other than enrolled students at SVELC will be permitted access into the building.
  • Infant/car seats cannot be brought into the building.
  • Children and adults entering the building must have their temperature (at exterior doors) taken each time and will be asked health screening questions regarding potential symptoms.
  • If any member of a household has had the above symptoms within the last 48 hours, enrolled children should not attend SVELC.
  • All information, including temperature and other signs of illness, will be recorded on a daily log by the designated staff person. Staff or person(s) taking temperatures must wear a face mask and gloves. If a non-contact thermometer is used, staff does not have to change gloves with each new temperature taken. However, if a contact thermometer is used, staff will change gloves for each new temperature taken. Contact thermometers must be wiped with an alcohol swab prior to next usage.
  • Sign-in stations will be inside the lobby – Infant and Toddler on the right, Preschool on the left. Families will be required to sign in their child at this station and complete any swipes, as necessary.
  • Children will be escorted to classrooms by SVELC staff or by their parent or authorized caregiver who is wearing a mask and has sanitized their hands. Parents entering infant/toddler/two-year-old classrooms must wear protective shoe coverings (located at classroom doors) or remove their shoes. Parents or authorized caregivers must escort their child or children to their classroom(s) within a 10-minute period from entering to exiting the building.  When this is not possible, a staff member will escort children from the front entrance area to classrooms. Teachers or other staff should let Jayla or Valerie know if parents/caregivers are noticed to be taking more than 10-minutes to drop off children.
  • Ideally, the same parent or authorized adult should both drop off and pick up each day. If possible, older adults such as grandparents or adults who have serious underlying medical conditions should not drop off children.
  • Unfortunately, during these new processes, non-employees will not be permitted to breastfeed inside SVELC.
  • Children or adults who arrive or become ill during the school day with temperatures over 100°F and/or any other signs of illness including respiratory symptoms (cough, runny nose, sore throat), chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, head ache, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, vomiting, sudden loss or taste or smell (including symptoms as a result of vaccinations) will be excluded from the program until symptoms have been resolved for 48 hours, or longer depending on the situation, without the use of fever or symptom-reducing medicine.
  • Parents/Caregivers must inform SVELC if an enrolled child or family members is being tested for COVID19 or has received a positive result from a COVID-19 screening.
  • All children admitted will be logged into the ProCare system by Jayla Gish or staff at the front desk with access to the ProCare system.

REVISED PICK-UP WINDOW

2:30pm-4:30pm

Families arriving late between 4:31 and 4:41pm will be charged an additional late fee of $2 per minute per child. Families arriving between 4:42 and 5:00pm will be charged $5 per minute per child.

  • Parents or authorized caregivers must have their temperatures taken, have a health screening for symptoms and wear masks (and protective footwear in infant/toddler/two-year-old rooms) in order to pick up their child or children from their classroom(s) or the playground and do so within a 10-minute period from entering to exiting the building.  When this is not possible, a staff member will bring children to the entrance area for pick up.
  • All children leaving SVELC will be logged out of the ProCare system by Jayla Gish or whoever is at the front desk with access to the ProCare system.

TUITION AND ATTENDANCE

  • While SVELC is open and operating, families are expected to pay tuition for their enrolled children. If a family chooses to keep their child(ren) at home, they can either continue to pay tuition to hold their spot, or they can withdraw from enrollment.
  • If a parent chooses to withdraw their child(ren), they will be placed on the wait list and can re-register once they are ready to return to SVELC. In that circumstance, families will need to pay a new registration fee.
  • If SVELC is required to temporarily close due to a COVID-19 related reason, families would not be expected to pay tuition for that period of closure. Due to changing funding restrictions and availability, this may change in the future.

PAYMENTS AND SWIPING

  • Staff will accept cash and checks for payments. However, if a family uses a credit card, staff will not handle the credit card; families will handle payment on the terminal themselves. Staff will sanitize the terminal with an alcohol swab after each transaction.
  • The use of hand sanitizer is required before using the swipe terminal and for handling money or check payments.  After completing swipes, disinfectant wipes, spray and towel, or alcohol swabs are to be used to wipe down the swipe terminal and surrounding 12-inch area, discarding a used wipe/swab in a trash receptable. Children should not touch swipe terminals or credit card terminals.
